Finca Ven, LLC was founded in March 2021 by Sheri A. Peters, a former environmental lawyer who returned to Ohio to put her values into practice on the land itself.
Why we exist
Sheri spent fifteen years in Columbus practicing environmental law, writing regulations that told others how to care for land. She grew tired of abstraction. Finca Ven is her answer: a company that owns land directly and demonstrates what good stewardship looks like in practice.
The name comes from the Spanish word for a rural estate. It reflects the company's belief that land ownership is a relationship, not a transaction — a "finca" is a place with history, character, and obligations.

Sheri holds a JD from Ohio State University and a certificate in sustainable agriculture from the Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association. She lives in Munroe Falls and serves on the board of a regional land trust.
